Colin Powell

Powell still bullish on Obama, not joining the govt

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell is ruling out a return to the government service but says he remains supportive of President Barack Obama.

Powell says he hopes Obama will take on the sluggish economy and unemployment in his State of the Union address.

The retired general and moderate Republican says he is not interested in a job in the Obama administration and wants to stay in private life.

More than 2 years after endorsing Obama's presidential candidacy, Powell acknowledges setbacks and says that the president still has, in his words, "a way to go" in dealing with America's problems.

Powell says that "Superman" was not elected to the White House and but he's confident that today's challenges can be met.
